Caledonia School

What the bloody hell has happened to Caledonia's roads? I drop off one child at the High School, then around to the street-side to drop off my elementarty student. Apparently, there is this "NO RIGHT TURN" sign being partially enforced. Something about the buses having to wait in line to get out. Apparently, I am supposed to turn LEFT, drive down the road a ways, then find a place to turn around. Only then am I allowed to drive the correct way on that street. Now...WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT SOLVE? Can the guys in charge of the roads not find a better solution to this problem? Do I need to break out the old Photoshop and make a suggestion? Damn.......You have TWO intersections that tend to block each other off. One of them in directly in front of a convenience store, which gives young drivers the impression that they are somehow automatically considered as "next" to jump out into traffic. The actual road they should be on is about 20 feet to the right. You know, the one with the "STOP" sign and thick white road paint.

Come on, guys. Put your thinking caps on and fix this. It's ridiculous.

Another hit-and-run.

This hit-and-run was on MY car. I am 90% certain that it happened in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I noticed it the following day, and I had only been to Wal-Mart the day it happened. Police department is closed on Friday, and it wasn't an "emergency," so I wasn't about to waste the PD's time with a 911 call. I called Wal-Mart and spoke to someone who told me they had video footage, and would release it to the police. I filed the report on Monday. The gentleman who took the report said that the cameras were not good, and the video probably isn't worth looking at.

I guess we'll see if anyone bothers to follow up on it. I'm not holding my breath, though.

MUW name change

Forgive me for being out of the loop, but is the name change a sure thing? If so, when? It suddenly became VERY important to me...lol.

Mad Mud Trails and More

Just throwing this out there. I've taken quite an interest in this since I've been back...

Mad Mud Trails is having their "July Mud Jam" this weekend. There will be live music and races. I'll be out there doing some filming, probably. I'll probably also find myself jumping over stuff on a bike, too. (Not the Harley..)

Friday - Ride the trails and limerock formations all day, beginning at noon.
Saturday - Live music, races start at 6PM. Trails are open all day, as well.
Sunday - They're having a Poker Run on the trails beginning at 11AM.

The trails are open to 4-wheelers big and small, dirt bikes, Gators, Mules...they're all welcome...

Burglary

So, yesterday my house was broken into. My wife's laptop, my son's PS3 and all his games, and a Rolex were taken.

I would like to give credit to the great detective work involved in retrieving the stolen merchandise. Oh, not to any law enforcement agency, but to my wife. After telling the LCSO EXACTLY who it was, they could not do anything about it. But after doing a little digging and making a few phone calls, she was able to give a location and they were caught red-handed with the stuff. One of them is still on the run, by the way. He jumped a fence and got away.

I hope they find him before I do.
