They killed the bill regarding making animal cruelty a felony, but are pushing for regulation against strip clubs because of the Pony statue.
So, which bothers you the most....this picture Pony photo Or the many photos of animal cruelty/torture that have happened in Mississippi. That doesn't include pets that have been shot or poisoned by neighbors or others.

What's going on close by? The Columbus visitor's bureau has a block party mentioned but no details. Anything happening at the Trotter?

Everyone don't forget to go vote Tuesday if you are in the District One area. It stretches as far as part of Highway 45 North in the city (I think somewhere south of Lock and Dam Road), part of the area around Lee High, part of Steens and Caledonia.
Even though it is a special election to fill a term of the late Judge Phillip Robertson's position, it is still an election where every vote is important and every registered voter should take a few minutes from their day and exercise that right. Just look at the other countries that are making the news right now to see how fortunate we are to be able to vote without threat of violence or persecution. It's a special election with only one race on the ballot, so it won't take but a few minutes of your time.

There is a puppy tied to a bush on 14th Avenue and Railroad Street that has NO shelter. It has been raining off and on all weekend and that puppy has been tied outside the whole time. He is just tied to a bush and I guess that is his shelter. He may have bowls, but the times that I passed by there and LOOKED, I didn't see any.
Does Columbus or the state have a law against keeping a dog tied up without shelter? I tried to research it but the sites I found were so vague about leaving it up to the cities or municipalities, that I couldn't make sure.

Ya'll heard anything about this? I've heard that Tony Cooper, a detective from the sheriff's office is considering running.
